SeniorConnect

Recently we met an 80 year old woman named Claudia who was living alone and had no access to the internet. She was wondering about how to stay active and informed and asked us questions like, “How can I shop without driving?” “Where do I catch a bus to get to the movie theater or to a doctor’s office? How can I find out about medical questions like if I can take ibuprofen and warfarin together?” After listening to her, we realized that many of her questions could be answered with basic internet searches. An idea was born!

At Technology 4 Life we want to show older adults how to use a tablet or iPad to go on the internet and find the answers to their basic life questions!

Too many intelligent, active, fun-seeking seniors are cut off from a wealth of vital, easily accessible information because they are afraid of today’s technology. Many are even too afraid to buy a tablet or smartphone because the purchasing experience is too overwhelming. What do I need? Where do I find a device? Do I buy a 16 gigabyte, or 32 gigabyte? By the way, what is a gigabyte?

For the past four years, Technology 4 Life has made it our goal to train adults on how to use their smartphones, tablets, and computers. Since we began, we have offered hundreds of classes throughout Marin County and have successfully taught more than 1000 adults. Our mission has always been helping seniors learn a variety of technology tools that lead to vital and more empowered lives.

With your support we will launch ”SeniorConnect.” This program will reach out to people who are not using the internet and are either afraid to buy or don’t know where to go to buy a tablet or iPad.Our goal will be simple. With your donations, we will purchase iPads and Android tablets and then use these devices to offer multiple classes throughout Marin training people how to use the internet. Our classes will let seniors try out a device and learn to do some basic internet searches to find answers to their questions and to discover what the internet may offer them.

Donations can be made via Paypal or sent to 822 College Ave #303, Kentfield, CA 94914-0303.

Over 90% of your donation goes directly into our programs and your donations are fully deductible under IRS section 501(c)(3)!

We hit our goal!
